VICTORY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

VCS WORSHIP

NOTHING ELSE BUT HIS PRESENCE WILL DO.

VCS Worship is more than just a class—it’s a calling. This unique course is designed to empower students to explore, develop, and actively use their musical and spiritual gifts in the context of worship ministry. Whether students feel led toward a future in worship leadership or simply want to grow in their faith and creativity, VCS Worship provides the foundation they need to take meaningful next steps.

The primary purpose of the VCS Worship program is to give students hands-on opportunities to engage in worship leadership while deepening their understanding of what it means to lead others in the presence of God. Through a carefully crafted curriculum, students are prepared to step confidently into worship ministry—whether that be in college, church, or other ministry settings.

What Students Will Learn:

Students in VCS Worship will gain foundational skills in both the technical and spiritual aspects of leading worship. Course topics include:

  • Spiritual Foundations of Worship: Exploring biblical principles and the heart posture of a worship leader.

  • Basic Music Theory: Understanding the language of music to communicate effectively with a worship team.

  • Creativity and Songwriting: Developing original songs and creative worship elements.

  • Set List Creation: Learning how to prayerfully and strategically select music that leads others into meaningful worship.

  • Rehearsal Techniques: Building leadership and teamwork skills through practical rehearsal strategies.

  • Live Worship Leadership: Leading worship in real-time settings with feedback and mentorship.

Leading the School in Worship

One of the most exciting aspects of the VCS Worship program is the opportunity for students to lead their peers in chapel services throughout the week. Our students plan and lead age-appropriate chapel worship for multiple divisions of the school, including Lower, Middle, and Upper School. This gives students the chance to grow in leadership, adapt their worship style to different age groups, and make a lasting impact on the spiritual life of the entire school.

Preparing for the Future

VCS Worship also serves as a launching pad for students who feel called to pursue worship ministry beyond high school. Whether it’s attending a Christian university with a worship emphasis, serving on a church worship team, or simply bringing a heart of worship into everyday life, students leave the course with the tools, experience, and confidence to follow that calling wherever God leads.
