Our Story

Founded for the future

Victory Christian School opened in the fall of 1979, offering Kindergarten through the sixth grade. In the first year, two hundred sixty-nine students were enrolled. The following year grades 7-12 were added increasing enrollment to 422. The school also moved to larger facilities in 1985 growing us to 622. In the fall of 1989, Victory opened its new facilities at 7700 South Lewis where we have continued to thrive each year, reaching 835 students by 1995. The facilities have continued to grow at the 7700 South Lewis location.  The addition of a new three-story children’s center for Victory Christian Center provided an additional 16 classrooms.

God provided an opportunity to lease two additional buildings from Oral Roberts Ministry. In 2001, the preschool and kindergarten classes were relocated to these newly leased buildings. By the fall of 2002, the school was experiencing a record enrollment in middle and high school.

As a result of this increase, the first-grade classes were relocated to the Early Learning Center (ELC), combining them with the kindergarten. The preschool program was relocated to the 7700 South Lewis building and was incorporated into the nursery and Mother’s Day Out programs within Victory Christian Center.

VCS has continued to always look to the future with eyes of faith. Starting in 2019-2020 our Kindergarteners will have their own two-story wing to call their own. Renovations and advancement is happening across our campus and in our classrooms. We are thrilled to be partnered with Apple and be fully a one-to-one school with a individual iPad in each students hand from 5th – 12th grade.

Quality Academics without Compromising the Word of God

Pastors Billy Joe and Sharon Daugherty started Victory Christian School in 1979. The vision given to them was to challenge students to become men and women fulfilling God’s destiny in their future vocations. The Pastors’ vision for educating extraordinary individuals has impacted the lives of thousands of VCS graduates as they continue striving to fulfill their God-breathed calling. In accord with founding Pastors Billy Joe and Sharon, Pastor Paul Daugherty believes that Christian education is the key to impacting the world for Christ. The vision of a quality Christian academic education program without compromising the Word of God is the formula for success.

The result of the vision reveals that Victory Christian School has been impacting the Tulsa area for over 35 years and continues to be a beacon in Christian education. Inherent in the vision is the recognition that God created every person with a unique purpose and destiny. Today VCS continues to prepare students academically and spiritually for life, either in the post-secondary educational arena or in the vocation to which they have been called.

VCS prepares students for the next level by equipping them for life with confidence in the Word of God, the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, and a strong academic foundation. The VCS pursuit of strong academics incorporates a viable college preparatory curriculum with a distinctive Biblical Worldview. The applicable vision of VCS is to teach every student how to live a successful Christian life, thereby, enabling the student to overcome distractions that may tempt them from living a God-centered life.

Beyond the core academic programs, VCS offers excellent instruction and leadership in our award-winning and state recognized performing and visual arts programs. VCS also offers a vigorous athletic program in a variety of sports that has amassed numerous conference, regional, and state titles by competing with a contagious passion for honoring Christ on and off the field.

Victory Christian School continues to fulfill the original vision to this generation of students by challenging them academically in the classroom, assisting in developing their individual talents, cultivating their spiritual gifts and forging their passion for serving.
