Our Mission & Vision

Victory Christian’s middle school program’s purpose is to provide the highest quality educational experience while advancing developmental growth in a Christ-centered atmosphere. With a desire to impart foundational academic and spiritual principles, our staff has developed a program that will meet the differentiated needs of each student.  Our annual 8th Grade Cotillion offers the opportunity for students to showcase the social grace and emotional growth that they will experience as they complete Middle School at VCS.

Programs and Leadership

The Junior High years are exciting, unique and challenging, and our experienced faculty understands the specific needs of developing adolescents. Whether in the classroom, in the hallways or on the playing fields, our goal is to positively impact lives for Christ.

Middle School curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of reading insightfully, writing decisively and speaking persuasively. Students are taught in core subject areas (Math, Science, History, and English) while also being challenged to integrate all knowledge with a Christ-centered worldview. Enrichment classes include Physical Education, Music, band, Jazz Band, Choir, Robotics, and Art. VCS also has a strong presence of National Junior Honor Society.

Lance Gwartney will be entering his 15th year of education after graduating from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Mr. Gwartney came to VCS in 2020 with 13 years of Christian, private school experience.  He has served as a teacher, basketball coach, volleyball coach, middle school principal, and athletic director at various times.  As a coach, he has been a part of 2 state championship volleyball teams and the state runner-up as a high school boy’s basketball coach.

Mr. Gwartney earned his master’s degree from Southern Nazarene University. He has one son, Silas, and has been married to his wife, Stephanie, since 2007.  He loves education and coaching and greatly values the opportunities they provide to impact students for Christ.
